Becoming a Student:

Being part of SCCBS is not a right. It is a privilege that few are allowed. This should not discourage you from applying to the school. Before you join, read about the school and read our rule book. Make sure you hide any groups on your profile that could be frowned upon. Upon acceptance of your application, you will have an interview with Miss Sarah. If all goes well, you will be granted the tag of a Novice. During this time, you live as a student but you don't get a uniform or rez rights yet. When you feel ready, you will have your Studentship exam to make sure you understand school rules. If you pass, you are a full student with all rights and privileges. If you fail, you can always try the exam again another day.

 

Rule Book:

Like all schools, we have a rule book, which is a code of conduct. We take this rule book very seriously. It is essential to know our rule book inside and out. The Studentship exam is based on it and every student and staff are expected to know and follow it.

 

What are ticks?

Ticks are demerits. Anything that breaks a rule may earn you a tick. Ticks are now generated and stored in an electronic database called "The Tick-o-Matic 5000". Miss Sarah, staff, and Prefects are able to add ticks to your records. They are then placed on Discord for all to see.

Once again, St. Columba does NOT practice corporal punishment in any way, shape, or form. Tick marks are issued for ANY and ALL infractions such as wearing the wrong uniform, wrong tag, socks instead of tights, sitting at the wrong time or location, speaking in class, fighting etc etc etc….

- Novice

- Student

- Prefect

•        Prefects;  Prefects are expected to establish and maintain the highest standards of behavior, attitude, and appearance at all times and provide a positive role model for other pupils. Prefects will exhibit the personal qualities that are valued at SCCBS, including self-discipline, leadership skills, communication skills, public speaking, politeness, helpfulness, respect, and care for others. They are reliable and responsible members of the school’s community. The Prefect tag is the highest honor a student can achieve.

A prefects duty:

◦        They promote social activities at the school

◦        They can give ticks to others

◦        They are in charge of soup

◦        They help during detentions.

◦        They do inspections at a teacher's request.

◦        When a teacher is absent, the prefect will find an alternative thing to do.

•        Students: One who has achieved their Studentship Exam and is a full-fledged student.

•        Novices: An entry-level student or a "Student-in-Training".
